The goal of web accessibility is to ensure that everyone has access to your website and its contents. It’s the right thing to do, and, in many cases, it’s the law. Financially, web accessibility makes sense as well. Accessible websites will likely attract a broader audience of potential customers and demonstrate your commitment to inclusivity. The search engine rankings of accessible websites are also higher.

Websites should be accessible to everyone. If you run a business, a state, or a local government, your website must comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Businesses are considered a “public accommodation” and must provide equal access to everyone. Your website must also comply if you receive government funding, such as grants.
